The best MMORPG for the money is www.conqueronline.com since it is completely FREE. The graphics are crap compared to guildwars....but the game is very indepth and addictive. The game really is free though...100% no strings attached. The only way the company makes money is by selling certain ingame items online...but you find them easily enough ingame and therefore don't need to buy them.

Oh seriously, you can't make someone want to try Conquer Online if you're not one of the most cruelest humans around. I've tried that game for a while... and while the basic idea might be quite nice... it does not come out well.
So yeah, you've got the option for Level 130 and reborn and do it again with some added features. Yeah. Whatever grind game is out there... it just gets beaten by Conquer Online in Terms of Grinding.
Even while you are around level 70 you can feel the dreadful feeling of grind. You fight, and fight and fight and fight and do nothing else. If that is what you like, well there you go.

On top of that, this game has one of the most corrupted gaming community i have ever seen. With the few GMs as honest as the typical Mafia Killer. You want a game, cheaters are celebrated by the GMs and honest players get banned? You want a game you can get someone banned just by saying "he hacked me"?
Oh right, come and visit Conquer. This is what you want then.

Somewhere along the TQ Licence Agreement there has got to be some part like:
Buy our IG Item and you are immune to EVERYTHING. Seriously, i would not recommend this game to ANYONE. It could be worthwhile, but isn't. And you will spend most of your time with nerd based dramas about "Kos UU!!!!" and the random curses now and then.
People will claim to be you, just because no GM gives a damn. People will steal your items by using keyloggers, some by hacking. And if that is not the case you've just been lucky

So you want a "free" game that is runned by those that pay the company large amounts of money? Here you go.
So you want a "free" game a single mere exploit that allows archers to level 10x as fast as normal isn't fixed for almost 2 months? Here you go.
You want a "free" game where cheaters are treated as GMs best friends? Conquer.

Wow, ok...Mr.Drama queen...had a bad day at work? Well when I started playing the game there were about 6 servers now there are like 18 and they have to split some of the servers into two...since they are filling up so fast. And since the ONLY thing you can buy from the company are Dragon Balls...which are fairly common in the game...then paying money to the company doesn't give you any big advantage that I can see. I saw some miner "Bots"....I reported them....a few days later their accounts were banned. Didn't seem like the GM was best friends with those cheaters...considering the fact that conquer online is regularly referred to as the "best free online game" on many different forums...Seems like a few people like it.

You don't believe it? Go, play and see.
In Basilisk Pit there ALWAYS are people macroing away. Using Bugs and Exploits is common sense. And if the game is kept free from cheaters... simply tell me why persons like NYK just did not get banned for cheating asap? They were allowed to pass their items to another chars. As items matters most in CO... haha, yeah.

If you buy Dragonballs... you get a lot more power then just... Dragonballs. You control the economy all on your own. Your equip will skyrocket and equip is the most important thing in Conquer Online. Good items do not get payed in money, but in Dragonballs and they are not so common as you want to say.

No bad day at work fanboi. Just enough bullshit seen with Conquer to prevent anyone from playing it. As off the argument you bring up there "others like it". Some people even liked to slaughter people in reallife. Guess that gets justified too as there are others who like that too? Nonsense argument.
Everyone who doesn't believe this point about Conquer being corrupt as hell. Have ONE look in their boards. If that doesn't suffice have a nice little search vor names like "Serac" (she imposted to be a GM MAAAAANY times, yet never even got close to being banned... except for a small temp ban), alternatively search for NYK (heavy cheater and scammer... well read the story).
After you've done that do a quick search for Dragonballs. If you are still not convinced GMs give a damn about players try the suggestion subforums. With tons of good things there, just waiting to be ignored and never ever been read. Still not convinced? See the community works there that get ignored by the Developers (new effects by some player). Still not convinced? Have a look at the Dramas in the Serverboards. Still not convinced? Fanboi.

Not necessarily a RPG, but there is a MMORTS called Shattered Galaxy. You get to make squads (based off your avatars stats) and you enter large MMO battles, where you work with other players of your faction. Its free but there is a premium membership for those that want "gold weapons" and such. Its a great fix for a month or two.

And, in Guild Wars, I don't know why people just quit after reaching 20, to me it seems like the game truly starts once you get to that feat.

Yeah... there are Uber monsters to fight... completing the entire missions and even get the Ascention Armor, in which is a feat in itself to conquer. Oh and don't forget the Hall Of Heroes when you defeat... yourself!!

Aaah, Knight Online. I played that for a while. Unfortunately, it was pants. There was one guy I remember who stood in the same enemy spawn spot all day, just casting and casting and casting. The kill-stealing was absurd, really really bad.

Anyway, I used to play a text-based game called Shimlar (www.shimlar.com) which is actually quite addictive...for me, anyway.

recently got Battlefield2, cooperative squad play is incredible.
